Gibsons at a Glance
Gibsons is widely known for its starring role in the Canadian TV show The Beachcombers,
but residents of the scenic oceanfront town insist there is much more to their
community than the famous diner, Molly's
Reach. Known as the gateway to the Sunshine
Coast because of its close proximity to the Langdale
Ferry Terminal, this charming fishing village has a surplus of parks, including
the Winegarden
Waterfront Park, which is centrally located near the wharf and offers a picturesque
vista. Visitors can take advantage of the thriving art community by joining one
of the artisan tours, while sporty types can golf at any of the nearby courses
or partake in the numerous boating adventures offered. Every July, Gibsons plays
host to the Sea
Cavalcade, a lively 3-day event that offers a pancake breakfast, a street
dance, a fishing derby, a barbecue and more. Molly's
Lane Market has eclectic shops and bistros, while nearby Gibsons
Wharf has a boardwalk with a gazebo and an adjacent floating garden, making
it the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll.
